Ceremonial/Formal Classical

Postby mScutt » Mon Apr 26, 2010 4:10 pm

Hey, I am organizing the Induction Ceremony for National Honor Society at my high school. I am thinking about including opening and closing music in the event. I am wondering if you could create a list of appropriate compositions for this academic event. One work that I have found is Tchaikovsky's Festival Coronation March. Brahms' Academic Festival Overture is obviously appropriate, but it is too long for my purposes. Anything under five minutes would be great. Thanks!

Hi mScutt,

One of our Twitter peeps says:

"Rimsky-Korsakoff Procession of the Nobles from Mlada. Not academic per se but it has a distinctive, regal sound to it."

Hope this helps.
