While preparing the
Kickass Classical Top 100, we spent a lot of time (and money) on iTunes and Amazon mp3 finding the most dynamic version of each piece. There's no one single orchestra we relied on for our compilation.
However, we HIGHLY recommend any piece by
Arthur Fiedler. He conducted the Boston Pops for 50 years, and understood that to make classical music exciting, you had to play it fast and loud.

Also keep in mind our sound engineer did a little sound shaping on each clip making sure they "popped" on tiny computer speakers.
