Classical Piece With An Apocalyptic Feel?

Hi, I'm sorry to make such an abstract request, especially on my first post on this forum, but this has been driving me nuts. Recently I heard a piece on a youtube video but forgot to scribble the name down before killing the tab, and now I can't find it again. Any help in finding it would be appreciated.

About the piece: The prominent part of the piece is choral, evocative of an apocalyptic feel not unlike Carmina Burana. During this same part most, if not all, of the instruments frequently seem to cease as the chorus forcefully vocalizes a word I don't recall clearly enough to transcribe. I know that it is a three syllable word, with the vowel sounds roughly matching the following underlined vowels, in order: bed, need (or possibly kit), cot. I also recall that the title displayed was in a foreign language, although that isn't unusual and probably isn't helpful. However I seem to recall having heard this song on Hollywood soundtracks once or twice.

I have crawled through list after list after list of classical music trying to find this song again, and while I have rediscovered some great pieces along the way, unfortunately I have not found this one.

Again, I'm very sorry for being so unspecific (feel free to berate me). I understand perfectly if nobody can name this piece on the information given but maybe you could point me in a good direction?

Thanks for the response. I think you may be right about the production music; I had a listen to a fair deal of production music after I read your comment, and in general it definitely seems quite similar to the piece I'm looking for. Unfortunately the one I'm looking for wasn't in the set you provided a link to, nor any of the others that I've listened to. But I'll keep checking out production music, as well as classical, to try and find my piece.

Well, I found the song. I also feel like a complete idiot. Since it's not often that I get to feel like an idiot (justified or not) and I REFUSE to take myself seriously, allow me to share my shame for your general amusement (although please do accept my assurances that I am, at most other times, quite bright) .

The song that I sought and suspected of being a classical piece is in fact of a much more recent vintage. The late '90's in fact. This is my first facepalm, albeit a minor one given the previously mentioned genre of production music. The second facepalm results from the fact that the song is not from a movie, but in fact a video game.

These are forgivable mistakes. The third facepalm, however, is not. While I did quite accurately remember the epic choral segments, the song contained a very noticeable and very obvious clue of the era, which somehow completely escaped my notice the first time (maybe because I only heard part of it): a freaking ELECTRIC GUITAR. Yes, I posted on a classical music forum asking about a song featuring an instrument that wasn't invented until almost halfway through the 1900's.

I feel I owe it to you guys to tell you what the song was. In explaining this song to my friend in hopes that he had heard of it, I had told him that the chorus sounded like they were singing "Sephiroth". Well, they were. The song was "One Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII, released in 1997.

REDEMPTION! While I wrote this, I found the original version of the song. And... no electric guitar. No instrument that would immediately distinguish this from production music. Don't damage your head with too many facepalms... there are some who argue that film scores - and yes, video game scores - are the new classical music :)

Because of this, we get asked about these kinds of pieces all the time. We've played a lot video games, but we haven't played them all, so sometimes we can't help. And then we feel bad. And then we go play video games to feel better.
