Please Help Me With This Pretty Bombastic Piece

What's that classical music I heard?

Please Help Me With This Pretty Bombastic Piece

Postby Mr-Dale » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:16 pm

Hello!

I'v been going crazy on a piece of classical music (I assume) that is used in this Fashion Television report which I happened to stumble upon and it's driving me nuts that I cannot find out what it is. After Googling every lyric that I thought I heard without any success ("veni, veni, veni, maria" being the most sought after) I am becoming quite obsessed and desperate to be honest haha. So please if somebody can help me, it will be greatly appreciated. It's the music used from 0:08 to 0:25, 1:44 to 1:55, possibly 3:10 to 3:23 (not sure if it's the same) and from 3:48 to 4:18 in this YouTube video:

Thanks in advance!

Ah, the epic dramatic choir singing random Latin words, the chord progression, the drums... we're pretty sure this is production music in the style of Carl Orff's "O Fortuna."

Due to "O Fortuna's" massive popularity, production music companies have churned out hundreds of sound-alike pieces, since almost every epic movie and video game trailer needs one. Watch this video to see how common these sound-alike pieces are:

Wish we could be of more help. Best wishes!

I was already afraid that this was gonna be your answer. I listened to the Carmina Burana again after a long time (gonna see it live next week in Amsterdam, hurra!) because I thought I recognised something from there, but alas. Thanks for your help! I now know looking any further will probably be in vain....
