For The Love Of Bassoon!

What's that classical music I heard?

For The Love Of Bassoon!

Postby ClassicalChris » Mon Apr 25, 2011 1:43 am

Was listening to Sacramento's classical station the other day when I heard a piece with an overwhelming amount of Bassoon. Now I love me some bassoon, usually only a solo here or there, but this piece seamed to be committed completely to it. It was highly technical and very dynamic. The accompaniment was soft, under-toned, strings, maybe some piano. Can't remember much else from the few minutes I heard it, just that amazing sounding bassoon and the flurry of notes that shot forth from it. Can anyone help?

A Twitter friend suggested looking into Francois Devienne 'Bassoon Concerto in B Major.'

Any luck?
